Sorry for posting this blog very late.
Recently, My best friend got hitched on 7th of Feb. As you all know, I wear ethnic outfits very rarely. I am more of a crop-top, jeans and sneakers kind of girl. So, I was equally nervous and excited to wear ethnic for her wedding.
For the mehandi (henna tattoo -it’s a fun ceremony in Indian weddings – for those who are unaware of Indian weddings) function, obviously I needed to wear something manageable and comfortable. I need to not smear mehandi on my clothes, which is the top-most priority. So, I decided to create a simple yet graceful wedding guest look by pairing a black crop top with this ethnic maxi skirt. The entire outfit with accessories was worth 2000 bucks.
I highlighted the simple outfit with a pair of chandbali earrings, which I purchased from a flea market for 100 bucks and a funky bracelet.
For makeup, I was wearing a subtle gold eye shadow with a highlighter just below the brow bone. Also, I used an eye-brow gel to keep my eyebrows in place. A classic red lip never goes out of style for weddings.
For the wedding, I wore a lehenga with a chunky necklace and jhumkas. I decided to go for a lehenga which is not too heavy. I wanted to be able to move and have fun rather than worry about the heavy-weight lehenga. I kept the makeup really simple. Just a winged eyeliner and a red lipstick.
